how-it-works

The cohort comes first. Everything else is built for it.

Most courses are written once and sold to whoever turns up. We do it the other way round: form a small group with the same target, then write the plan and assemble the mentors for that group. Here is the full sequence.

How a cohort comes together

Six steps, in this order. Nothing is charged until step four is done and you have seen the plan and the price.

  1. 01

    Apply

    5 minutes

Tell us where you are, where you want to get to and when you can study. No CV required, no test.

    • One form: background, target track, goal, availability.
    • We reply within two working days to book the profiling call.
    • Applying does not commit you to anything.
  2. 02

    Profile

    30-minute call + a short practical

A conversation with a mentor and a short hands-on exercise, so we know your real level, not the one on paper.

    • The practical is a small task in your target area, done at your pace.
    • We write a one-page skills map: what you have, what is missing for your goal.
    • You keep the map whether or not you join a cohort.
  3. 03

    Cohort forms

    typically 2–6 weeks

We group 6–12 people with the same target, a compatible level and a schedule that works for everyone.

    • Same target matters more than same background. A sysadmin and a developer both heading to DevOps belong together.
    • If no compatible cohort is forming, we tell you the expected wait instead of placing you in the wrong group.
    • You can see the anonymised profile of the group before you commit.
  4. 04

    Course plan

    1–2 weeks

Written for this cohort: modules, labs, weekly rhythm, capstone and the tools your target employers actually use.

    • We start from the track outline and cut, add and reorder based on the skills maps.
    • The plan names the cloud provider, languages and tooling for the cohort.
    • The cohort reviews the draft. Price and dates are fixed when the plan is final.
  5. 05

    Mentor team

    in parallel with the plan

Two to four practitioners matched to the plan: a lead mentor, a lab mentor and guest practitioners for specific modules.

    • Mentors currently do this work for a living. No full-time trainers.
    • The lead mentor owns the plan and the weekly sessions; the lab mentor owns hands-on hours.
    • Guests cover topics such as a specific cloud, security tooling or on-call practice.
  6. 06

    Run

    8–16 weeks

Two live sessions a week, labs on real infrastructure, weekly mentor hours and a capstone you present at the end.

    • Expect 6–10 hours a week including labs.
    • Every module ends with something you built, not something you watched.
    • Career switchers get CV, portfolio and interview preparation in the final weeks.

Who decides what

You decide

  • Which track and goal you apply for
  • When you can study and when you want to start
  • Whether to join once you have seen the plan, the group profile and the price

We decide

  • Who is in a cohort, so levels and targets stay compatible
  • Which mentors fit the plan
  • When a cohort is not forming, and tell you the expected wait

Decided together

  • The course plan, after the cohort reviews the draft
  • The weekly schedule
  • The capstone, so it is something you can use afterwards

Tell us where you want to get to.

Applying takes five minutes. Profiling is free and you keep the skills map. The cohort, the plan and the price come before any commitment.
